Israel gave up

Deu 6:1-17
(1) Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
(2) That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
(3) Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
(4) Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
(5) And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
(6) And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
(7) And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
(8) And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets bewhich thou buildedst not,
(11) And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
(12) Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
(13) Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
(14) Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;
(15) (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
(16) Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
(17) Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
tween thine eyes.
(9) And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
(10) And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities,

Deut 8:28
Israel is head and not tail. If you love God and obey His commandments, you are blessed. If not, you are cursed.

We have submitted to the world too much, trusting in the world too much, and slowly taken over into slavery. Sold our birthright.

How do we live a victorious Christian life?

Joseph became head of Egypt so all the nation could be protected, then after his death, it was downhill because they did keep the sanctity our lives.

We are like a frog in slowly boiling water, dying from ignoring the heat. (Finances, greed,

Israel went into slavery because they did nothing. One of the greatest proof of doing nothing is with the Nazis. The Nazis sent Jews to US and Canada, and we sent them back to slaughter.

Do you know what your children are being taught in school? What the local government is doing? Did we do anything when abortion was introduced, when prayer was removed from school?

The Israelites gave up and did nothing when they were brought into slavery.
They make laws and we don’t do anything.

Ask yourself: Am I doing anything to preserve and keep the righteousness of God that He gave me? If I have been given the righteousness of Christ, am I not supposed to protect that?
What am I doing to preserve that wonderful gift of righteousness of God?

We are:
Redeemed- exagora - exit , to translate you from the market place (this world), to the Kingdom of His dear Son.
Saved- the sin that has power over you has no more power over you
Made Just- we are guiltless

Are we looking for things in Church that are not essentials?
In Jesus’ day, mothers taught their children. Father’s trained. We have lost those trainings. Consider what we have lost by letting things pass and not preserving. Skills are not passed down through generations anymore.

Ask yourself: What have I done to protect the righteousness that was given to me? What have I done to continue that righteousness in my life, making sure when the flesh is not so righteous to bring it under righteousness?

Do you understand you have an opponent?
Are you looking at the fact that now the enemy has enslaved you and has become your friend?
(story of the rattlesnake and the Indian on the mountain to pray- you promised you weren’t going to bite me- you should have known who I was before you picked me up).

Remember the story of the Indian on a spiritual journey to the mountain top. When there he met a rattlesnake that begged him to take him down to the bottom. The snake promised not to bite him. After crossing through many obstacles and perilous adventures, he finally brought the snake to the bottom of the mountain, at which point it turned and bit him. As the Indian lay dying, he asked the snake why he broke his promise. It replied, “You knew what I was when you picked me up.”

There are demonic forces. We believe that we don’t have to do any spiritual warfare.

Jesus went 40 days in the desert being tempted. Throughout the Bible we hear about demons.

Consider the video games- immoral, violence, demonic

We are not doing spiritual warfare. God has always called His people to defend their spirituality, reality.

Are you aware of what the kids are playing? watching? listening to?
Watch what they are watching. Computer games are fine if they are supervised, and you put rules and guidelines.

Are we doing something? Are we going to stand up for the righteousness that is given to us through the Lord Jesus Christ?
------------------------------------------
SPIRITUAL WARFAREAs of this moment, we are going to put on our spiritual armor and we are going to fight.
STUDY THE NOTES. RECEIVE REVELATION SO THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.

Italicized are from the notes given out at Sunday’s service:
God has revealed through the scriptures the way to living a victorious life. Life provided many challenges in which we are able to find success and see victory over them. To live this victorious life we need to equip ourselves with the training and use of spiritual weaponry. It is not enough to have the weapons, but learn to use them during the times of these challenges. We are to prepare ourselves so that we may conquer and defend that which belongs to us in the Kingdom.

Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

1Co 15:57-58
(57) But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
(58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

1Jn 5:4-5
(4) For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
(5) Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Jesus is called Lord of Hosts (armies, angels and Christians)- we are at war. There has never been when the enemy is destroyed.

Mat 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

We are in boot camp. Jesus is the drill sergeant.
We are more than victorious already.

Warfare

God does desire to restore mankind and to have dominion. We have fallen to sin and now we are to overcome the carnal and world with warfare. When Israel left Egypt to the promised land, God caused His people who knew no warfare or the skills to do battle, so that they would conquer that which is their and to keep and defend it. After the people entered into their promised land, the children were made to learn the art of war to keep that which God gave them in promise.

When God took Israel out, He led them around a place where they would not have to face the enemy at the beginning because they would run back to Egypt.
The disciples were sent with nothing so they would know that God provides.

Jdg 3:1-2
(1) Now these are the nations which the LORD left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;
(2) Only that the generations of the children of Israel might know, to teach them war, at the least such as before knew nothing thereof;

God kept some enemies aside to test the Israelites who had not experienced war in Canaan. They were going into the Promised Land. He did it only to teach warfare so that we would keep that which we were always meant to have and keep that which was given.

Paul encourages Timothy to wage a good warfare to the task set before him in prophecy. Timothy was to use the art of spiritual warfare to enable him to conquer and establish his ministry. As Timothy and all saints, we are all called to stand equipped and ready to find victory and success through the truth of the word. We are all called to establish the Kingdom reign on earth and conquer the enemies of God.

If you want spirituality in your home, take dominion. Battle scars will happen, but take dominion.

Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

The devil doesn’t want you to believe that God loves you.
Submit yourself to God. Resist the devil and he will flee.

IT IS ALL DEPENDENT ON YOU, THE SARGEANT CAN GIVE YOU THE DRILLS, BUT YOU HAVE TO DO IT.

SUNDAY SERMON 10-19-09

Sunday Service 10-18-09

Do you burn for the Word?
Are you constantly thinking about what you read the day before? Ask yourself why not?
As Christians, shouldn’t we be more excited about the Word?
You know the Word is important- what am I supposed to do?

Luk 24:14-32
(14) And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
(15) And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
(16) But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
(17) And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
(18) And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a
stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
(19) And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
(20) And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
(21) But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
(22) Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
(23) And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
(24) And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
(25) Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
(26) Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
(27) And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
(28) And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
(29) But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
(30) And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
(31) And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
(32) And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

The Lord did not talk at them nor to them, but with them.
He listened and talked as an equal.
Did He want the men to discover a new love for the Word on their own?
There is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed.

Luk 11:9-10
(9) And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
(10) For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

The greatest treasures in the Bible come from a little digging.
God is gentle and He wants us to be passionate about His Son, His Word.
Jesus didn’t just tell them the scriptures, but opened the Scriptures to Him.
God wants us to have a desire for Him. We must let the Word open the Womb in our hearts.

PREPARE YOUR HEARTS FOR THE WORD
PRAY BEFORE YOU READ THE WORD
ASK THE LORD TO OPEN THE WORD BEFORE YOU DAILY.

Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. KJV

John 14:26
26 But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you. AMP

Jas 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth (taunt, tease) not; and it shall be given him.

Why not walk with our Lord? Why not discuss the scriptures with Him?

Did not our heart burn within us as He opened to us the scriptures?

How can we use fire as a principle for reading the Word:

Principles to start a fire:
The Word is the fuel.
Heat- caused by friction- repetition, meditate on the word
Air- O2 – Holy Spirit

Trust God to ignite what you need to know.
Walk with Him. Talk with Him. And be still… know that He is God.

The Bible isn’t just ink on the page. It is God’s breath of life.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Read the Bible to discover all that is yours.
The Word is a Light unto your path.

On the way, the couple of men were talking with meeting with the women who saw Jesus alive, but they weren’t quite sure.
The men were talking with Jesus and He opened the scriptures. Jesus continued to walk with them, and he concentrated not on what the news was, not on other things, but on the scripture. He based His whole life on the scripture.
When God opens the Word, it is like a birth. The baby becomes the Master.
“And their hearts burned within them. “
- it is like finding a waterfall, a rare flower, it is for you. We have to continue to be in the Word. The same scripture can be used for every part of one’s life.
From conception to birth, it takes times for growth.
If you don’t have that kindling- The WORD, Heat- Friction, Air

Is the Word FUEL? That is our energy.
If you want to keep God warm deep in your heart, you have to find fuel. If you want to keep warm in the winter storms, you have to prepare- every day meditate on the Word. Need to feed that fire-

Meditate- mull, repeat, look at it from every angle you can, “how does it apply to me, Lord?”, allowing it to burn within your heart; it is not the quantity of reading that you need- it is the part of the Word that God gives to meditate. Search it out- make it a labor of love.

Scriptures talk about muse

Psa 39:1-3
(1) I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
(2) I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.
(3) My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,

Allow the Word to burn within you, rather than the passion and emotion.

Create friction by meditating over and over again.

Air= The BREATH OF LIFE- Holy Spirit understands what He wrote. He is the Author. The Holy Spirit is like air, without air we all die. It takes the Holy Spirit Who inspired… With His breath He spoke the Word. The meaning of the Word has life… inspiration. It is energy with the power to change things.

The minute we sound the Word in our minds it starts to take form. It is meaningless if you look at it as a duty, but not as meaning in your life.

MAKE IT A LABOR OF LOVE!

Meditate:
Converse with the Word, the scripture.
Maybe there is another similar scripture.
You have to spend time- it is better to spend time on one scripture than a whole chapter.
Is there another scripture that amplifies the meaning?
Rely on the Holy Spirit.
Never modify the scripture- take it for what it says.
It is better to meditate on one scripture and know it in your heart.

The Lord is My ROCK
He is unshakeable- you can build your foundation on Him

Consider getting a flat tire- you have to rely on the jack- trust and have faith that it will provide the strength that you don’t have. The jack will lift the car, and then you are able to do your work to change the tire. You change the tire and continue your journey.
We are all on our journeys. We forget that the help we need to fulfill and complete our journey is God. Though we can look at the jack and consider that little thing is going to lift the car, but we don’t have faith that God is going to lift us up and help when we need Him.

Jesus knew that we could have faith.
He knew to trust His Father. He could have taken Himself off the cross, but He trusted in God, His Father, that He could do way beyond what He could ask or think.

We don’t put any where as much trust and hope in God as we do in the help of others or things.

The Bible is a testimony of those who put their trust in God and would not be shaken.

When David wrote Ps 18:2, he did not have it easy. He had a price on his head. But he knew His God.

God has a purpose for you and He will help you get through your journey. He is always there for you.

Psa 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Zec 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

You have to get yourself in the position where there are no human resources. The Lord desires that you understand that you have not depended upon His Holy Spirit.

It is NOTby might,
power,
human effort,
control,
manipulation,

but by MY SPIRIT SAITH THE LORD.

We need to learn to trust the Holy Spirit in our lives.
There are times when we are in situations that look eternally unresolved-able, but God will be our strength and the Holy Spirit will do the things that we can’t .

GOD IS OUR STRENGTH-
He will meet our needs when we need it.

It is not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord.

In this day and age, there are going to be times that we will need to have the strength to go through the very difficult situations, to keep our minds focused.
It is time this morning that we realize that even our own breath is breathed by God.

God is OUR STRENGTH. Don’t wait until you need Him. Realize it this moment. He is your fortress, strength, your buckler (a buckler is a small shield used in fighting).

God will come to our defense. He is our buckler and in the battle it is the buckler that gets all the pressure and pain.

HE IS MY GOD.

Take PSALM 18 verse 2- Apply it today:
Psa 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

God has to be your God.
He has to be your Rock.
He has to be your Fortress.
The Horn of your Salvation- the crown has horns, representing strength and salvation.
He is the Sovereignty of my Salvation and no one else can take it away from you.

Put your trust in God.

Prophecy:
Pray for the things of My heart-
The starving, the thirsty, the victims of hate, those who have no one to pray for them
Know that I am opening your ears and eyes to see things that you haven’t seen, see the way I see
I am that I am.

Psa 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Consider how Adam and Eve felt when Cain killed Abel and Cain was banished from the land (their lives).
Consider how Abraham felt when Ishmael was banished.
Consider how Esau gave up the birthright and blessing to Jacob… how many people suffered.

The great men and women in the Bible had to keep reminding themselves of the Truth… to know the Truth and the Truth with set them free.

The foundation that made David, Daniel, and other heroes of the Bible had to keep reminding themselves of the Lord all the time. The Lord- my Rock, My Fortress, my Deliverer.

DO YOU ON A DAILY BASIS REMIND YOURSELF OF WHO GOD IS?

IS HE JUST GOD OR IS HE MY GOD!?

Yawheh
El Shaddai
My Strength
My Supplier

We need to acknowledge GOD from the moment we get up in the morning to the time we go to bed at night.
GOD IS TOTALLY INVOLVED WITH YOU.

God has to be that ROCK-
Have you built your life on just coming to Church?
Is your life built on the Word or is it just hit and miss?

Judgment is coming soon- Are we going to be judged with the world or are we separated unto Him?

Our Church is built on the fact that Christ is the Rock,

He is my Fortress (to be strong, or make strong).
Look at God as Daddy. He is a place of safety- a place we can hide.

Psa 91:1-2
(1) He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
(2) I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Psa 1:3
(3) And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

He is our fortress- a place where we can go when we feel that the world is too much for us today.

He is my Deliverer, my Escape. No matter what happens, He is the way of escape- He can give us back to the way of peace.

2Th 3:3
(3) But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

Psa 121:7-8
(7) The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
(8) The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

There are scriptures to have in your heart.

1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

2Ti 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

2Sa 22:33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

When Paul had no energy, had no strength, in his weakness He is made strong. He learned from God not to rely on His own strength, but to plug in to God.

Everyone will have to learn to tap your strength from God. When we need His strength we need to shut down and get charged up. When I am weak He is strong. He has a plan, a way out, more than we can see.

Zec 4:6
(6) Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Why do you think He said, GO and wait to be empowered.

Start the day = Lord, empower me.
Mid day= Lord, fill me more
Night= Lord, strengthen me, refresh me, fill me as I sleep.

Psa 40:17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

Ps 54:4
4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.
KJV

Isa 50:7-10
(7) For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.
(8) He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.
(9) Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.
(10) Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.

Heb 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

, in whom I will trust

Trust- To have faith in, to entrust the responsibility on , to commit, to put in another’s care.

To commit your life to Him- your present, the future, and even what your past was

We will look at satan and say, “Is that what caused fear upon the earth?”

To confine in- to make refuge, to

2Sa 22:32-37
(32) For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?
(33) God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.
(34) He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.
(35) He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
(36) Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.
(37) Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

Psa 37:40 And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

Neh 1:7
7 We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.KJV

We will make an effect on this world only when we look into the Word and see if we really reflect Him. The Word is the Laver. The Water in the Laver magnifies- we need to wash to magnify Him.
