*********************************************
Where will our LORD take us in 2010?

What about God’s justice is common to all of us?- The Lord says, “I judge you, My people, by how you spend your time. “
How much time did you love?
How much time did you care?
How much time did you devote to Him?

God works in time. God has times- He has moments- He sent Jesus in the fullness of time. You were born at the right time. You will die at the right time.

Everything has to do with time.
All of our functions have to do with time. How much time we invest determines the success of what we put our efforts to. We get paid by hourly wages or if we are salaried by how we complete our tasks within the allotted time.

Your heart beats on time. You breathe on time. The body has timely rhythms.

In the 10 commandments, God commanded:
You shall spend all your time worshipping Me and no time worshipping idols.
You will work 6 days and rest the 7th.

God’s going to judge you about how you spent time- How did you spend your time developing yourself, time with family, with kids, with parents, with friends, relatives, quality time…

In the parables we see a focus on time: I.e.
The parable of the talents- when the Master went on the journey, He gave the servants TIME to invest.
The parable of the 10 virgins- when the TIME had come for the Bridegroom to come, ½ did not have TIME to get oil.

IT’S TIME THAT YOU TAKE TIME SERIOUSLY.

Our lives are measured in time. Every person is given an allotted time and we each are accountable for how we spend it.

Time defined

· an indefinite period (usually marked by specific attributes or activities)
everything is run by the clock

· the continuum of experience in which events pass from the future to the present to the past
everything is always potential future- then it becomes present and past

· the 4th dimension: the fourth coordinate that is required (along with three spatial dimensions) to specify a physical event
quantum theory

· calculated measure of moments given by division into parts of equal duration

· Time is the fundamental structure which is divided into years, months, days, weeks, hours, minutes, and seconds, and divisions of the second to minute division

· Is used in the calculation of this physical realm, such as speed, distance, economic value, (time is money), phases of the moon and planets, rhythm in music, in mathematics, radiation emitted by an atom, gravity, etc.

· Used in recording of human and physical events called history

· Sidereal time is the measurement of time relative to a distant star (instead of solar time that is relative to the sun). It is used in astronomy to predict when a star will be overhead. Due to the rotation of the earth around the sun a sidereal day is 1/366th of a day (4 minutes) less than a solar day.

Time in human events (Man’s willful acts)

Everything under God’s purpose is time.

Ecc 3:1-8
(1) To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
(2) A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
(3) A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
(4) A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
(5) A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
(6) A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
(7) A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
(8) A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

The process of time
· We must be good stewards of time
We must manage our lives knowing that time is very precious, we are given to be caretakers of time and how we spend our time and the time of others.
· Time must be managed
Consider the amount of time of devotion, sharing, giving,
· We are accountable for the use of our time
God’s book is on TIME- how much time did you invest in God?, in others?, how much time did you waste? Did you take time to work, rest, prepare? Opportunity comes at the right time. Timing is everything.
· God has allotted everyone a measure of time, but no one knows its span.
God wants you to put all your effort in the time of the moment.
· Time is fleeting
· We must salvage or redeem our time and not waste it.

Eph 5:16-17
(16) Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
(17) Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Don’t be stupid. Life is within the time given. Time is a gift given for us now, a responsibility.
· Time is short and fleeting.

1Pe 1:24
(24) For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

Psa 89:47-48
(47) Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain?
(48) What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.

· Time is allotted each of us for our growth and development.
· We have a limited time to accomplish our purpose.

Ecc 9:10
(10) Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

· Don’t squander or waste time

If we waste time with discouragement, fear, tiredness, time will go by and we will not experience it. No matter whether the time goes by slow or fast, we are responsible for it.

Rom 13:11-14
(11) And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
(12) The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
(13) Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
(14) But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

· Time is opportunity

Col 4:5
5 Behave yourselves wisely [living prudently and with discretion] in your relations with those of the outside world (the non-Christians), making the very most of the time and seizing (buying up) the opportunity. AMP
· Your time should be spent in the fear of the Lord

1Pe 1:17
(17) And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

· Time is spent and cannot be regained
· Time can be planned and be saved
· Times of refreshing from the Lord

Acts 3:19
19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;KJV

· Time of restitution
Act 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

· Time is predetermined by God

Act 17:26
(26) And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

· God’s purpose is fulfilled in His time

Gal 4:4
(4) But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

Mar 1:15
(15) And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Living within time
Life is divided in 3 sections of time; the past, present, and future.
· The past is time already lived
· The present is time of being in the moment
· The future is yet to come

God expects you to live in the moment. Don’t live in the past any more- it’s already done. The future is
not.

Time of the future is coming.

How much time I spend depends on my choice. The story of Christmas has to do with the fullness of time. We each are given an allotted time.

New Year’s approach
· Resolve and forgive the past so you can continue your journey
Maybe you need to learn to be a lover. Be accountable for the moments of your life.
· Learn to live the moment
· Hope for the future with great expectation

You can’t prepare for the future without using up the moments, because whatever you do in the present prepares for the future.

In 2010 God wants you to look at your moments- live the moment, so that it will create a positive future.

Each moment is preparing for the next. We have a choice to take the moment and apply it seriously.

How much time do you devote in worship?
How much time do you give to devotion?
How much time do you work on yourself?
How much time do you give to your neighbor?
How much time do you give to your spouse, kids, family?
How much time do you give to your work ?
How much time are you patient?
How much time do you give to self-control?
How much time do you give to someone else’s life?
How much time do you give to changing world?
How much time do you give to enjoy the things I have given you?
How much time did you spend with Me?
How much time did you spend with Me?
What did you do with your life span?
All justice is on that scale- the allotted time and how we live it out.

Sunday Service 12-20-09
Christmas

The celebration of Christmas began with celebrating the winter god, the solstice, during Constantine’s time. It was an attempt to assimilate Christian ideals into pagan holidays.
It is now celebrating the birth of Jesus
What is Christmas all about today? It is gift giving.
Gift giving is important.
What is the greatest gift? Love is the greatest gift of all. – The greatest gift is me… God the Father created me as a gift to Hs Son.
God so loved the world that He brought forth His Son so that He would get His gift of myself to Him.
When I give myself totally to Him, He is so excited.
Christmas is all about me being given to Jesus as His gift.

Mk 9:41- I belong to Christ
Mar 9:41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

1 Cor 3:23- I am Christ’s
1Co 3:23 And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

2 Cor 10:7- I am Christ’s
2Co 10:7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.

God has given us a gift

Acts 2:38-39- Holy Spirit
Act 2:38-39
(38) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
(39) For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

We offer ourselves as a gift to Jesus- gold, frankincense, and myrr
- give the GOLD, I am the most precious in the world- none should perish but all come to repentance- see myself as being precious, as fine gold, I am worth being given to the Lord
- FRANKINCENSE- worship in spirit and truth, extreme extravagant devotion
-MYRR- perfume- sweet smelling savor, occupy the mind so that you can’t think of anything else, it acts as an antiseptic, calls for holiness and righteousness

Living the Victorious Life
Sermon 8

The enemy studies us to see what our weaknesses are.
We are so easily influenced by our demonic enemies, because we do not submit to God. We take on the influence of familiar spirits, such as poverty, sicknesses, addictions, relationship problems, etc.
We have sins that follow the generations, including attacks from the enemy through the generations, in society, personal attacks.
If something happens in your life, stop it right there because your children’s children will inherit what the enemy brings. When the enemy comes, submit yourself to God.
The devil will fill the house that is empty, so fill it with the Truth of God.

Resist the devil and he will flee.

Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Regardless of your background, the enemy has been using it to slow you down.

If you neglect that you have a soul, you will sell it.
You can have all the money and fame in the earth and gain nothing.

We need to be aware of the greatness that God put on all of us.
There is greatness in all of us, sometimes in the sense that we influence greatness. Consider the man who sponsored Billy Graham.
Perhaps our trials are actually the enemy attacking us so that we become distracted from the greater person inside.

The enemy studies us-ask yourself, “ What have I become a slave to?”

We are slaves to fear. Don’t fear. God is sovereign over our lives.
We need to put our mind on those things that bear fruit and let the Lord take care of the parts that don’t bear fruit.

Submit to God.
Resist the devil.
The devil will flee.

1. Examine your life on a daily basis. See what sins you do so that you can repent of them.

If there is a rat in your house, find out where it is coming from. Show no mercy to sin- don’t take prisoners (no “have a heart trap” for sin).

Remember the Story of the Indian and the rattle snake:
He was on a spiritual journey and a rattler convinced him to take him along, rescuing the snake with the promise that he wouldn’t bite. When, at the end of the journey, the snake turned at gave a death bite, he said, “You should have known who I was when you picked me up.”

We need to be aware of the enemy’s tactics. “I am not going to hurt you. This is good for you.”

1. We need to know we have an enemy.
2. We need to know how the enemy works.
3. Where is the weakness? What sin in particular? What other sins led you to this sin?

We need to be aware that we have an enemy.

First line of defense: Find out how the enemy gets into your life.

Where does the enemy enter- could be something we are weak in from ancestors or just myself.
Don’t wait until you discover it. Take care of the potential leak it. We cannot allow a potential leak.
Where is the entrance? STOP PITYING YOURSELF. FEAR THAT THE ENEMY COULD HAVE A PLACE. FEAR GOD ENOUGH TO PLUG THE LEAKS.

How do they get into your house?
Giving yourself the little permissions. Then bigger and bigger…
Where is the door?
Start repenting- go the opposite way, turn around, instead of allowing the devil to get into your life>

Do you realize you have an enemy? Do you realize he wants to get into your life t o destroy you?
We give permission to allow the devil to get in.
Examine your house- see if there are any doors, no mercy, no prisoners- first thing in mind for a prisoner is escape.

Prepare for warfare

Eph 6:10-18
(10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
(11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
(Have to do something, be a soldier, be an enemy to the enemy. Pray.- Prophecy: the enemy will attack on these shores soon because this country has opened all kinds of doors to the enemy. Standing is an offensive position. When the enemy comes, we need to be ready to stand and not run and just be in defense. IT IS AN ACTIVE RATHER THAN PASSIVE POSITION- DON’T WAIT, FIND THE ENEMY’S CAMP AND DESTROY IT. Find your enemy before he destroys you. It is a lot more difficult to defend yourself than to be active. Once the enemy comes in it is hard to get up.)
(12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
(Consider who you are fighting? The person or the demon? Pride will allow the enemy to use a person to destroy you. The response is to recognize that the enemy is using them)
(13) Wherefore (pay attention) take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
(14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
(15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
(16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench ALL the fiery darts of the wicked.
(17) And take the helmet of salvation
(Do we know what our salvation entails? Are we like people who buy a very expensive piece of equipment and don’t read the manual? Righteousness, redemption- to be taken out of the kingdom of darkness and into the Kingdom of His dear Son- we are part of the Kingdom- not the world or marketplace, justification- we can lift our head with pride. We don’t have to cower anymore. ), and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
(18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints
;
For ALL THE SAINTS- the reason Rome was a powerful army force was because each soldier was responsive for the soldiers on all sides. Rome fell because they allowed wickedness, became weak because of the flesh, slaves to their greed.

Homework:
READ THE ABOVE SCRIPTURE AND MAKE DECISIONS – NO RETREAT.
RESIST THE DEVIL.
SUBMIT TO GOD.

Sunday Service
12-6-09
- delivered by Christopher Will

The Word- inspired by God for our benefit, divine spiritual truths, encourage, convict
Instruction manual

Psa 119:100-107.
(103) How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
(104) Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
(105) NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
(106) I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.
(107) I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word.

Thy Word is a lamp:
We need the Word guiding the way to lighten the darkness, It shows where you are and that we are on the right path.

We can’t see that we are in bondage, shackled to addictions, can’t see that we are blind and on the wrong road because we are not reading the map.
The Bible shows us how to live a righteous life.

Pro 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Commandment requires action.
We must not let fear prevent us from stepping onto the Way.
We need to acknowledge our transgressions and return to the Way.

The Word casts light on our dark paths.

The Word shows the way- nothing hidden- humbled or humiliated

We can’t hide from Holy Spirit- He knows what is in our heart

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect (mature, equipped), throughly furnished unto all good works.

NIV- scripture is inspiration- God breathed
For reproof- to convict, convince, tell a fault (recognition to turn away)

THE WORD OF GOD IS THE TRUTH- NOT ALL INCLUSIVE, NOT TO BE ADDED WITH ALL THE OTHER DOCTRINES OF THE WORLD
God’s Word cuts, reproves, shows where you are wrong AND how to make it right.
It will free us from the shackles of the enemy and show us the way to walk in truth.

Psa 19:7-8
(7) The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
(8) The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The law of the Lord is perfect- made perfect, converts the soul

Perfect- complete, exactly right, meeting its complete end

So that we may be thoroughly furnished, completely equipped

Rom 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope

As we move toward God, His light burns away our sin. His Word is our mission statement.

The Word shines it light to dispel the darkness; it is our means to become perfect, shines His Light upon us.

******************************************************************************************

Discussion:
The heart- doesn’t our heart burn within us ?

What did we learn?-
The Power of the Word to change lives- it was the Holy Spirit Who intervened.
Even though we are hiding, we will be found by God’s Holy Spirit.
We find God’s Light in the midst of darkness.
God is gentle but forceful.
It is the plain Word of God
No matter what darkness you go through, Jesus is there to light your path, give courage and hope, He will perfect you.
God in His great love for us gives us the Word.
God does not take you through the suffering. It is the result of our fallen nature.

(7) The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul

It is important that when people are brought him to the Lord, they are disciple.

******************************************************
It is up to us to equip ourselves to the point that we are able to go into the world and bring the world into submission to Jesus. God expects it. We are not in a voluntary army. By becoming citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven, you automatically become part of the army of God. The Christian Church has become a people of those who are expecting to be served by the pastor. We should rather be a people who serve, acting as One Army.

When we are not training ourselves, we become a liability to the whole group. We need to be strong, walking in righteousness, and be an able Christian. We tend to not put in the whole effort.

EXAMINE YOURSELF DAILY TO DISCOVER WHERE YOU HAVE FALLEN SHORT OF GOD’S WILL, WHERE THE ENEMY GETS A FOOTHOLD.

You become a liability if you do not train yourself. The Church is the Body of Christ, we cannot become a liability. Each person is responsible and accountable to not be a liability, but a blessing.

“Do you mean we should not receive from God? “ That is not what is said. There is a difference in being a taker and a receiver.

In the 3 Little Pigs, only one considered the enemy.
First pig built the house from straw- easy, and quick
2nd pig built from sticks- easy, quick, and false structure
(are you one who has been born again, but not invested in your soul? Are you too lazy? Are you building religious houses? – they come down just as quick.)
3rd pig built from bricks- it took time, was tiring to build, but withstood the enemy, and it had the ability to bring the others into the structure.

The pig represents something to be devoured.
The devil and the world want to devour you.
Ask yourself, since you have been born again, what spiritual structures have you built to weather the storms?
IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE A VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN, DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOURSELF THROUGH THE DISCIPLINE TO WITHSTAND THE STORM?

Are you really a Christian? If you are, your life will not be without problems. The more holy you become, the more testing the devil will see to find out if you really are.

We go through hand to hand combat- one thing resisting another. The enemy looks at: “How many of the enemy can you eliminate?” You don’t want to look at the strong. You begin with the weak… the liabilities.

The 7 Biblical principles:

(hand to hand combat with the enemy may be in the form of body attacks such as sickness, finances, emotions, relationships, etc.)
***************************

p.2

1. We learn the art of warfare from the Word of God. It is the Word that equips the Christian for a victorious life. The Scriptures reveal the spiritual power of God and the Kingdom and through the Word success is established.

Success is established in the Bible- from the beginning to the end of the book. There is a war going on- the enemy is real, is planning to swallow you up. If you don’t study how the enemy has tried to destroy God’s people from the beginning, you will not

When you go into battle, we need to worship God! Praise Him! The enemy squirms because they see that God has gone into the battle.

2Ti 3:14-17
(14) But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
(15) And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
(16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
(17) That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Until you put the armor of God in your life, you only have the potential. But if you don’t build it up you are a liability.

Are you going to be equipped when the enemy attacks?

Heb 4:11-12
(11) Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
(12) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

2. It takes faith.
We will find that it takes faith to establish the Word in our lives and to bring victory to light.

1Jn 5:4-5
(4) For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
(5) Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Without faith there is no victory.

Heb 10:34-39
(34) For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.
(35) Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
(36) For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
(37) For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
(38) Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
(39) But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

3. Show sin no mercy. In the Old Testament Israel was to destroy that which would take then away from God. God told His people to was against those nations in the wilderness. The Canaanites were to be completely destroyed and so must sin in our lives.

1Sa 15:18 And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.

There is a warfare. It starts with sin.

4. So that we may see the power of God.

Deu 4:33-40
(33) Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?
(34) Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
(35) Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.
(36) Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.
(37) And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;
(38) To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.
(39) Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
(40) Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.

It is not your work. It will be His work. When we give ourselves over to God, the Lord shows us victory.

2Ch 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

He is the Lord of the Hosts, the Lord of the armies.

(When you are in a battle, praise God first. Then listen to the strategy.)

5. So that we may not fear the battle and get weary in well-doing.

Exo 13:17-18
(17) And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
(18) But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

Heb 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

satan likes to bring fear so that he can keep you in bondage.
The minute something happens, we withdraw.
We could get to places shorter if we could just battle the enemy,

6. Submit to God.

Jas 4:7-10
(7) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
(8) Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
(9) Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
(10) Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

KJV

James 4:7-10
7 So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.
8 Come close to God and He will come close to you. [Recognize that you are] sinners, get your soiled hands clean; [realize that you have been disloyal] wavering individuals with divided interests, and purify your hearts [of your spiritual adultery].
9 [As you draw near to God] be deeply penitent and grieve, even weep [over your disloyalty]. Let your laughter be turned to grief and your mirth to dejection and heartfelt shame [for your sins].
10 Humble yourselves [feeling very insignificant] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up and make your lives significant].

7. Mastery; be disciplined (Mastery is disciplined)

1Co 9:24-27
(24) Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
(25) And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
(26) I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
(27) But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

We want self discipline because we want to self-determine our lives. A soldier is a soldier because he wants to self-determine. We need to be self-determined in our Christian walk to win the prize, to be that Christian who will glorify God, to be the Light of the world, to destroy the enemy, save the lost, and to not sin or falter.

Jesus is self-determined.
Lucifer and his armies are disciplined, The devil is self- disciplined. Everyone is disciplined whether they like it or not.

Is there anything taking away from the boot-camp discipline?
We need to recognize our weaknesses so that instead of them taking us into slavery, we say no, this is the way we are going.

Php 3:13-14
(13) Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
(14) I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

1Ti 6:11-12
(11) But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
(12) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

2Ti 2:4-5
(4) No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
(5) And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

2Ti 4:6-8
(6) For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
(7) I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
(8) Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

1.We need to go over our day and review where the enemy has been served.

2. We need to take ourselves seriously.

3. Need to consider our soul- not sell it off.

Israel had a covenant with Abraham, but they found themselves in slavery because they sold their blessing.

They did not look at God to bring prosperity.
God demands that we look a His power alone.

Israel needed to remove the idols.
Gideon was told that he needed first to remove those of the army that had fear,
Then he had to remove those who were not watching for the enemy.
They need to obey God’s voice.

Gideon’s army destroyed the enemy through their faith and obedience.
The wealth of the wicked belong unto the righteous- unless you are righteous the wicked will take from you.

2Ch 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

God is looking throughout the whole earth. He loves to show Himself strong in behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him (whose heart is wholeheartedly given to God- the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to give you life more abundantly ).

You shall love God with all your heart-
Your mind- your thoughts, your emotions, intellect
Your strength- all you have, finances, talents, everything you have- the day you don’t fear giving an offering to God you will see God move.

He likes to show Himself strong. God wants to show Himself, but He doesn’t want you to think that you are the one, but that He is the one.

in the behalf of them- OUR GOD, All day long, God moves in my behalf.

The people who know their God shall prove themselves strong, and shall stand strong, and do exploits. Dan 11:32b

Herein thou hast done foolishly (not wise): therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

The moment we don’t give ourselves wholley to God, we can’t enter into His rest.
Everything that is important in our lives has to go out the door, and we must allow God .

War means that you have an enemy that wants to possess everything you have. The enemy attacks all. He wants to take your possession. He wants to take the power from you to be fruitful, dominate.

The Kingdom of God is taken by violence and the violent take it by force.

Herein- before you said these things, you have been a fool. You have acted like fools, not giving your hearts totally to God.

Deut 8-
Deu 8:11-18
(11) Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
(12) Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;
(13) And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;
(14) Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house
of bondage;
(15) Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
(16) Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
(17) And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.
(18) But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

It is by My power that you have done this.

Read Deut 28

God doesn’t like it when you live by grease (and not grace)- we slip out of His hands, rather than doing things. Real grace is having the ability to do things that you haven’t been able to do before.
You must give your life wholeheartedly to God- everything, life, family, actions, community, needs- and trust

If you give yourself wholeheartedly to God, God Who is looking for you will meet your needs.

GIVE YOURSELF WHOLEHEARTEDLY TO GOD AND TRUST HIM ONLY, ONLY, ONLY.

The Father constantly moved in Jesus’ behalf.

Examine yourself- Have you given yourself wholeheartedly to God? When we do that, God will prove Himself strong. Give yourself to God- and nothing else- not even yourself. If we don’t, we have been unwise- don’t compromise or it will be your demise.

God wants you to give your heart perfectly (100%) to Him- the obedience will result- by not having your heart perfect toward Him .

A fool says in their heart there is no God.

When we don’t give our heart wholly to Him, we don’t recognize that we are under covenant .
HE knows our weaknesses, that’s why we have to give ourselves wholeheartedly to Him, so He can help you get rid of your sins. We are covenanted with Him.
