In scripture it says there will be a great falling away.

Joe 2:23
(23) Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

There will be an increase of the power of God like we have never seen it before.

Consider the Iceland volcano, the sun turns red through volcanic eruptions.
consider the earthquakes

When we pray to God, it is yes and amen.

In every second, moment of our lives there is something negative, but scripture says we are the head and not the tail.

Deu 28:13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

Israel was sent out of Egypt to the desert- Pharoah came- the people cried, ”What are we going to do? Where are we going to go?” Moses hid, begging God to do something. God said, in essence, “Shut up, stop crying, YOU ake the rod and part the sea.”
God did not do it for him. He gave him a job and expected him to do it.

God has given us the power to take care of the enemy. It is time we do it.
Are we expecting the devil to come and not expecting God to help?
Is our faith going to be there when we need it?
We have what we need when we need it. We have a rich bank account in the Kingdom of God.

Jesus said, “These things shall follow those who believe… they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover, they shall cast out demons.”
“Pray until you are empowered by Holy Spirit to be my witness.”
Philip was translated. Even those who were serving were witnesses.

The fear of the Lord came upon them.

Make a declaration to God:
From now on I will do what You do, say what You say, go where You go, and follow where You lead me.

Draw me. Empower me.
I want to be Light, Salt.

Christian means anointed one. Are you anointed?
God created us to worship Him with extreme extravagant devotion.

From handouts The Fear of the Lord:

Consider Jesus of Revelation where John fell like a dead man.
We have made God Who we want Him to be.
It’s time to have the fear of the Lord.
We don’t have the fear of the Lord. We only repent when something deadly goes wrong.
Scripture says we will say, “Is this the One?”
What fear do you have that will regulate and control your life?
It ought to be God.
God will not allow the world to go into a tragic tailspin and not do something about it.

We don’t have the fear of God anymore, we make our own religion, our own rules. God is the one who set up the 5-fold ministry to set up order in His Church.

In the last days, there will be ticklers of ears.
We are missing the hand of God and what we could do, because we fear not God.
The fear of God has nothing to do with feelings. It is a choice.
It is based on love and trust.
God I love You, and You can trust me that I will follow you.

Do we really sing “My God is an awesome God “ and really mean “until Monday when I go to work”.
God has forgiven your sins so that you can get a second, third, fourth chance.

Consider His faithfulness, the times you

Those who know their God shall prove themselves strong, stand firm, and do exploits
Dan 11:32b

If we fear God, the world would fear God.

Psa 34:11
(11) Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

Pro 14:26-27
(26) In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
(27) The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

Those who are worshipers are not just those who come up and join with the worship team.

Worship means – extreme extravagant devotion, it means a dog licking its master’s hand, giving devotion, all attention, looking with awe.

If a puppy can awe its master, how much more are we to awe the One Who created us.

Count the ways that God loves you.

Decide that you truly need the awe of God, so much so that you would never want to disobey Him.

Stop thinking about your spirituality with feelings. God does not want you to be scared of Him, but to be in awe of Him.

The fear of the Lord is the combination of love of trust.

We see His splendor, majesty.

Jesus was trying to teach a real fear of the Lord. He is Father, chastising those He loves.

Consider your own parents. We understand human frailty, but yet understand fear.
In learning to fear the Lord, we are saved from disaster.

Bond servant is a slave to someone because the servant desires Him to be your master. Jesus paid our debt.

Prov 14:26-27
26 In the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children shall always have a place of refuge.
27 Reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death. [John 4:10,14.]

The fear of the Lord is that ability to realize a sovereign god and Father. It produces a respect for God and makes us dread, above all things, to offend Him. This fear is known a filial fear or to fear to offend the one we love , and it is not the fear of being found out. Though we also fear the Lord because He is God and sovereign and we need to always be submissive to His will. All things with God are just and all things will be weighed by judgment, thus the fear of the Lord is based on trust and His love.

The fear of the Lord is to awe, reverence, adoration, honor, worship, confidence, thankfulness, love, fear, dread to offend the One we love, submission, and recognize the absolute sovereignty of God over us. The Bible also uses the term piety for the fear of the Lord.

Note: True fear of the Lord is based on love.

Psa 130:3-4
(3) If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
(4) But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

The Christian

As Christians we accept the gift of salvation, but we are also bondservants of the Lord and so make Him our Lord and Master. To the Christian the fear of the Lord must be absolute priority and dedication. This was the virtue that ruled Jesus in relationship with the Father and should be also in us.

As we have studied that all things must be done in the Spirit and no longer in our flesh and will, the Spirit moves on the believer and develops the fear of the Lord and it is our delight.

Isa 11:1-3
(1) And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
(2) And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
(3) And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

Act 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

2Co 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Psa 139:23-24
(23) Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
(24) And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Even Jesus had a fear of His Father. It is that which kept Him from sin, because He knew Who He was. We do not know who we are.

Consider the 3 Hebrew Children-
Even though you put us through the fire, we still won’t worship you

Daniel did not fear the lions.

Samson did not fear the Philistines

Jonah- sent to Ninevah- got there by God’s design- the fear of the Lord brought people to their knees.

If we delighted that we would fear the Lord, we could change the city in a second. Because we don’t fear God, we are called phonies.

We need to go back into the fear of the Lord.

Consider Ananias and Saphira- lying to God and then died.

DO A STUDY ON THE FEAR OF THE LORD.

Everything you need to live a successful Christian life is based on the fear of the Lord.

We have a Dad Who says. “Child if you do your own will, it will bring you to death.”

We need to go before the Lord and decide to fear Him. It is only the children of the Hebrews who were able walk in the awe of God who walked in the Promise Land.

David had an awe for God instead of the giant.

Jer 1:8
(8) Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

God is to be awed. We are to love Him.

Pro 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
