Jesus said the least in the Kingdom is greater than John the Baptist. Why?
When Jesus died He promised us the Holy Spirit and all were to be filled with Holy Spirit. He told them to pray until they were endued with Power- Dynamous
Signs follow those who believe.
Disciples and apostles were great because they believed God would work through them.

.God wants to use simple people. Stature and degrees have nothing to do with it.
Consider the following:
Peter- fisherman
Steven- servant
Philip- served tables

Everyone baptized in the Holy Spirit has the ability to speak in tongues, an evidence of the Holy Spirit baptism.

If tongues is given to us to build us up spiritually, isn’t it important to practice the gift?

Tongues (Glossolalia)
Speaking or praying in tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit and is an outflow or an evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is a divinely inspired language by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit

It is for the edifying of the believer. It builds you up. Complete the plan God has for you. Whatever you go through is there for edification. God does not force anyone to do anything.

Gen 11:1 Now the whole earth had one language and the same words.

The people had forgotten that they had been saved by God after the flood (we forgot). You can’t earn it. It is given. He has given us gifts- He wants us to be a people of the same purpose and motive.

Gen 11:6-7
(6) And the LORD said, "Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.

If we become one in God’s Kingdom, nothing will be impossible to us.

(7) Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another's speech."

On Pentecost-
God became the purpose, motive. He gave us back one language that we were not in control of.
It is to be an edifice, not to go above God, but to be one with God for His plan and purpose.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is to be immersed with the Presence of God so that He would lead and empower us.

It is a Sign of a believer

Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

It is a gift of the Holy Spirit

1Co 12:10
(10) To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

It is an evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Luk 3:16
(16) John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Baptism with fire- not water-is for purity

Act 11:16
(16) Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Act 10:46-47
(46) For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
(47) Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

Act 19:6-7
(6) And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
(7) And all the men were about twelve.

We have the ability to transfer the Baptism to anyone that we lay hands on- the fire causes us to be purged
Yielding our tongues to the Holy Spirit

Act 2:4
(4) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

It is for edification

1Co 14:4
(4) He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church
.

When you speak words out loud with intent they will manifest. Words have the power to change things.

Everyone has the power to speak into people’s lives. It is better to be totally silent than to speak wrongly into people’s lives. The gift of tongues needs no thinking. God will speak in your language to change you and others around you.

Jud 1:20
(20) But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Faith needs to be built up. You can’t have more faith if you focus on believing in satan’s work. You need to be edified.

Rom 8:26-27
(26) Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
(27) And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Holy Spirit sees our groaning- gets in touch with them, sees and gets in touch with our needs. Groanings can’t be uttered like words.

It is a language that speaks to God

1Co 14:2
(2) For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

Speak mysteries/mind know not what is being prayed for
Don’t try to understand praying in tongues- it is great mysteries
Science proves that the front part of our lobe is not active- it is not you controlling the sounds

1Co 14:14
(14) For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

It should not be forbidden

1Co 14:39-40
(39) Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
(40) Let all things be done decently and in order.
It can be interpreted

1Co 14:39-40
(39) Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
(40) Let all things be done decently and in order.

It is for yourself:

1Co 14:13
(13) Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
Purpose of tongue review
The Spirit of man prays, not his mind, emotions, or understanding

1Co 2:11
(11) For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

1Co 14:14-15
(14) For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
(15) What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

Jesus said it was to be the primary sign of the believer

Mar 16:17
(17) And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
