Our founder lived among us, tempted in every way. Jesus is an expression of God the Father’s love for us, not only because He died for our sins, but because when we go before Him He can identify with our pains, struggles. He is always there.

Jesus was raised on the first day of the week- a glorious day!

It was prophesied in the OT, even as Jesus mentioned a parallel with Jonah 3 days and nights in the fish.

The resurrection was so powerful that the soldiers ran in fear

Joh 11:25-26
(25) Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
(26) And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

God made man out of the dust of the earth, walked with man in the cool of the day, intimacy. As He walked with them the relationship between God and man increased in intimacy. He gave all the trees in the garden, but the tree of knowledge “you won’t eat or you will die.” -a way of acknowledging God’s sovereignty. When they ate, something was deadly different. When they sinned they hid from God. When we sinned we do the same. When they hid in the garden, God knew something died. They could not continue in that relationship because they knew what ego was, loving self more than God. The affection and love that He used to have with mankind was now being pulled apart by something else.

When Jesus died, He substituted – took man’s sin and died for us. Jesus died so that we could go boldly before the Father and say “Daddy.” He listens. God made us temples for His intimacy with Him… He is always waiting for that intimate presence and time with you. He substituted His life so that we can live forever with Him.

When He said “I am the way, truth, and life”, He meant it.
It is the substitution of LIFE, eternal LIFE.

The earth needed to experience this thunder and explosion that we are ALIVE in CHRIST JESUS!

Even though we were sinners, God the Father sent His Son for you and me.

Jesus came to give a message from the Father that says, “No matter how you came, what sins you’ve done, I love you.”

The PRESENCE OF THE LORD is ALWAYS THERE! It is we who withdraw. Go into His Presence daily. No matter what happens, He is there and will not withdraw.

Mat 27:50-66
(50) Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
(51) And, behold, the veil of the temple (six inches of leather- representing death- in order to go beyond the veil) was rent in twain from the top to the bottom (from heaven to earth); and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
(52) And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
(53) And came out of the graves after his resurrection (the life giving power that raised Jesus not only raised Him, but those who were nearby), and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
(54) Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. (imagine the fear upon soldiers who knew no fear)
(55) And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:
(56) Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children.
(57) When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:
(58) He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
(59) And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
(60) And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock( the great stone round rocks carved, rolled into the dip in the ground)
: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed (because it was the Sabbath).
(61) And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre(the sepulchre was actually carved into the rock).
(62) Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees (the religious) came together unto Pilate,
(63) Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
(64) Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
(65) Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
(66) So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch. (so that if the seal was broken it would indicate someone had tampered with the stone)

Mat 28:1-8
(1) In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
(2) And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
(3) His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
(4) And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
(5) And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
(6) He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
(7) And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
(8) And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

Without Jesus death and resurrection there is no substitution.
Now we have new life, that cannot be taken away.

The resurrection is the sure thing that our faith is put on. No other religion has the answer to sin.

It is the full structure by which everything is built. Everything is built upon this one pillar- that Jesus was truly the Son of God, He died for our sins, He rose from the dead, and gives us eternal life forever.

It is the whole building called the Body of Christ.

Jesus the way, truth, life
Power of Life
Establishing covenant with us
Faith is anchored
New life and Hope in Him

God created something that man could never overestimate.

1Co 15:2-58
(52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
(53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
(54) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
(55) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
(56) The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
(57) But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
(58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

1Co 15:18-23
(18) Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
(19) If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
(20) But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
(21) For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
(22) For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
(23) But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

Php 3:8-12
(8) Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
(9) And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
(10) That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings (all the benefits He attained from His death), being made conformable unto his death;
(11) If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
(12) Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus (as He takes me by the hand to Himself).

  1. I love the verse that says: "I have loved you with an everlasting love." To think: we have never NOT been loved - WOW!
